Iris Capital has promoted Partners Erik de la Rivière and Erkan Kilicaslan to Managing Partners
Erik de la Rivière (57), Managing Partner Erik has been promoted Managing Partner, based in Paris. He joined Iris Capital back in 1998, in charge of media and Internet investments. He currently sits on the boards of directors of MCI Group and Marco Vasco.
He previously served as a member of the boards of directors of several companies such as Bayard Presse International, Canal J, Ciné Groupe, Comfm, Déficom, Elan Speech, FastBooking, ITI/Télé Images, Lagardère Images, MCM, Naïve, Radios.fr, Store Electronic System, TravelHorizon, Vitaminic, Wild Bunch and ProwebCE.
Prior to joining Iris Capital, Erik was in charge of media and entertainment investments at Banque Worms in Paris, where he managed a specialized venture capital fund. He was Chairman and CEO of Amaya Films, an audio-visual rights and production company (sold to Lagardère Group) , as well as Chairman of Voltaire Images, an investment company in technical service providers to the audio-visual and film industries (sold to France Telecom).
Erik started his career in the Capital markets department at Banque Worms in Paris. Erik is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) School of Management.
Erkan Kilicaslan (48), Managing Partner Erkan has been promoted Managing Partner, based in Düsseldorf.
He joined Iris Capital back in 2005, in charge of investments in digital economy and technology, especially in the German speaking countries and in the Benelux. He currently sits on the boards of directors of 1-2-3.tv, Mediakraft, reBuy, Searchmetrics, Studitemps and Tyntec, and previously served as a board member of Human Inference (sold to Neopost) and Clear2Pay (sold to FIS).
Prior to joining Iris Capital, Erkan was Partner at TecVenture Partners, a Munich-based venture capital fund. Before that, he worked at Technologieholding VC (now 3i Group) in Munich as Investment Manager for technology investments, and at McKinsey & Company as consultant on corporate finance and technology projects. In addition, he has worked in the smart card division of Schlumberger Technologies in Paris.
With an MBA from Harvard Business School (Boston), Erkan also holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electronique et de Radioélectricité de Bordeaux (ENSERB).
